Governing Board MEETING NOTICE

 

Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) § 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of Ambassador Academy and to the general public that the Board will hold a public meeting and working session, open to the public as specified below. The Board reserves the right to change the order of items on the agenda, with the exception of public hearings set for a specific time. One or more members of the Board may participate in the meeting by telephonic communications.

 

DATE: Wednesday, June 14, 2017

TIME: 10:00AM

WHERE:  Ambassador Academy, Multipurpose Room and Teleconference

 

Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A) (2) and (3), the Board may vote to go into Executive Session, which will not be open to the public, for legal advice concerning any item on the agenda or to review, to discuss and consider records exempt by law from public inspection, including the receipt and discussion of information or testimony that is specifically required to be maintained as confidential by state or federal law.

 

Persons with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation such as a sign language interpreter, by contacting Ms. Francine Lauer at (480) 961-2214. Requests should be made as early as possible to allow time for arrangements to be made.

 

The meeting will be at Ambassador Academy, 3820 East Ray Road, Suite 8, Phoenix, AZ  85044.

 

At the time this notice is being prepared, the Governing Board expects the agenda of its meeting to include the following items:

  1. Pledge of Allegiance

  2. Roll Call

  3. Call to the Public: This is the time for public comment. Members of the Board may not discuss items that are not specifically identified on the agenda   Therefore, pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.01(G), action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter, responding to any criticism or scheduling the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date.”

  4. Items for Discussion and possible action:

            Consent Agenda

  1. Adding board members. Dr. KVR  Murthy, Muhammad Padela and Anuj Malhotra

  2. Accepting resignation of Jared Repinski , Jennifer Amsbaugh, and Amanda McDanell as board members

  3. Accrpt Ms. Melter’s resignation as Principal, remove Elizabeth Melter as checking account signer as of 6/30/17 ay 11:59PM and add  Dr. Murthy checking account signer as of 7/1/17

  4. Confirming addition of 7th & 8th grades for charter and school.

  5. Approve move of Ambassador Academy charter and school site location, effective 7/1/17 to 5301 South McClintock Drive Tempe and share space with the AZ College Prep Academy

  6. Amend minutes of 4/25/17 and approve amended minutes

The governing body of AMBASSADOR ACADEMY is the Governing School Board which established policies and practices to ensure the appropriate education of all children. The Governing School Board is composed of parents, teachers and community persons.

Pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.02, Ambassador Academy hereby states that all notices of the meetings of Ambassador Academy will be posted at the main entrance to our school and on our website at least 24 hours before a Board meeting.  If a holiday or unforeseen circumstance should necessitate changing the schedule, the new date and time will be included on the notice. The posting location is open to the public Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM.  Such notices will indicate the date, time, and place of the meeting and will include an agenda or information concerning the manner in which the public may obtain an agenda for the meeting.

All Board meetings, except executive sessions, are open to the public. Under Arizona law, the Board may call an executive session to discuss personnel matters, the purchase or lease of real property, meet-and-confer discussions, and legal matters with attorneys, among other things. The public is invited to speak to the Board on any subject. Requests to speak to the Governing Board may be made by filling out a Request to Speak card, available prior to the start of each meeting.

 

Comments are limited to three minutes please.
